Aircraft Maintenance

Superair Services is the maintenance section of Superair. Our maintenance base is located conveniently at the Armidale Airport in NSW. Our clean, well-equipped workshop can cater for aircraft up to 5700 kgs.


Our manuals provide for off site work also, which may be attractive to clients.


Superair Services caters for all routine maintenance and repairs and rebuilds of various aircraft for customers and insurance claims. The workshop also designs, builds and can modify aircraft to enable fitment of such things as magnetometers, airborne cameras, parachuting fixtures, laser altimeters, GPS and many other items to adopt the aircraft to better perform its operational role(s).


Maintenance available includes:

  • All piston engines, including overhauls
  • All airframe maintenance, including single and twin engine and wood and fabric structures
  • Helicopter maintenance - both piston and turbine .
  • All electrical system maintenance and certification up to and including IFR twins
  • All instrument system maintenance and certification up to and including IFR twins
  • Propeller and Engine Dynamic Balancing
  • CASA welding approval
  • Pre-purchase inspection of aircraft with written report
  • Ultralight maintenance
  • Approvals for hose & cable manufacture
  • Custom design and painting of aircraft from full resprays to touch-up and minor repairs
  • Approved Electronics International Dealer, including design and installation of engine and airframe instruments and management systems.
  • Coordination and installation of radio systems, including all engineering orders and CASA paperwork.


Superair Services currently maintains aircraft - both fixed and rotary wing for over 30 regular clients.


Superair carries awide range of aircraft parts in house. If additional parts are required urgently, most items are available overnight through our supplier network.

We source our parts from several suppliers based locally, nationally & from around the world and can assure our clients that we are obtaining the best possible prices and procurement of parts available at the time.


Superair now offers full avionics capabilities in house. from periodic inspections to full avionics installations

Superair currently maintains several turbine powered aircraft

Both Pratt & Whitney PT6A series engines and Garrett turbines are catered for

All necessary tooling, manuals and staff are available in house

PT6A Hot Section Inspections are carried out in our workshop

PT6A trend monitoring computer system available to clients

Engine and Component Overhaul

An engine overhaul facility complements the maintenance facility at the Armidale Airport. Our approval covers all horizontally opposed and in-line piston engines. Superair will carry out overhauls and also bulk strip inspections and repairs.

We have a fuel flow test bench, which enables us to maintain Continental and Bendix injection gear as well as carburettor overhauls. Our approval also extends to cover magneto, starter and alternator overhauls.

The engine overhaul facility has full magnaflux capabilities and non-destructive testing facilities

The engine overhaul workshop manager Mr Wayne Memphis, has over 40 years experience with engine and component maintenance, having worked in Papua New Guinea and Sydney for Rex Aviation and Hawker Pacific and from managing an engine overhaul facility in Quirindi, NSW. Wayne is also a licenced engineer and prides himself on doing the overhaul personally, thus ensuring the utmost in quality control

The knowledge and experience that Wayne has gained over the years has made him invaluable to the General Aviation fraternity being called upon by fellow engineers and CASA to troubleshoot and diagnose defects around Australia.

The engine overhaul facility currently maintains engines and components from all states of Australia


The MicroVibTM II Aircraft Analyzer

Superair own a MicroVibII analyzer for engine and propeller dynamic balancing and spectrum analysis. Engineering staff have been specially trained in its application and operation.
